Remedy for Toxic Ingestion

Hydrogen peroxide is a versatile household staple that can be used as an emergency emetic (vomit Inducer) for your dog or cat if they eat something toxic. Hydrogen peroxide is a gastric irritant so it should be used carefully.

Always give a recommended dose, which is one teaspoon per 5 pounds of body weight. But in some cases when your pet has ingested Drano do not induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide as it will increase the damage to the esophagus. If you notice any signs of illness or discomfort after giving them this remedy, contact their vet immediately!

Natural Remedy for Urinary Issues

For those who have cats, cranberry juice is a great way to keep them healthy. The unsweetened variety helps increase urine acidity which reduces the chance of infections or blockages. You can give your cat a cranberry capsule, which she can easily ingest.

Additionally, you could add some powder or juice from the fruit into her food so that she will eat it and get the necessary help. One thing you should keep in mind is to adjust the dose of cranberry after consulting the vet.

For Minor Injuries

The dogs and cats that play around often get injured. They can end up with cuts or bruises as a result of their activities. Lavender is one of the most important oils in our everyday lives. It can be used for a variety of purposes, including soothing minor cuts and skin sores.

Lavender oil will provide soothing relief from pain as well as antimicrobial properties that fight infection. Lavender oil can be applied directly to the skin.

To Improve Digestion

You may notice that your pet is a little more sluggish than usual, and he seems to be straining when going to the bathroom. This could mean constipation. It is a common occurrence in older pets, with age coming from wearing out their digestive system.

Giving your pet canned pumpkin can improve the digestion of their food. A recent study found that adding one to four tablespoons per day is enough for most dogs and cats, but make sure you do a small test batch first.

Apple Cider Vinegar Therapy

Apple cider vinegar is a natural way to relieve skin conditions like dryness and itching. The antiseptic qualities of the ACV make it excellent for relief on itchy areas since its healing abilities will prevent infection while also soothing redness from inflammation due to its high acidity level.

However, don’t use it on open wounds, as it will sting your pet. If there are any open cuts on their body, mix 50% water and 50% apple cider vinegar to use on the affected area. If your pet has walked through an area that contains poisonous oak or ivy, soak their paws in the solution of ACV.

Flea Repellant Remedy

Fleas are a common problem with pets. These are such tiny blood-sucking parasites, and in no time you will see that they are present on the whole body of your pets. Many dogs and cats are extremely allergic to flea bites, which can cause red, itchy, flaky skin and hotspots on your pets.

There are many treatments available out there for the control of fleas but you can also control it by the use of Neem oil.

Neem oil is a natural insect repellent; however, you should consult your vet first before using it on your pets. Take 1 part neem and 10 part water and mix it in a spray bottle. Spray on the whole body of your pet.

Electrolytes for Diarrhea

Pets suffering from diarrhea usually lose electrolytes and get dehydrated. To rehydrate your pets you need electrolytes. Electrolytes not only help humans but also help pets in this issue.

You can give your pet any pediatric or sports drink so his appetite returns to normal. However, consult your vet about the dosage of these drinks.

Vitamin E for Healthy Skin

Nobody wants their pets to grow old but it’s a natural phenomenon. However, you can help your pets to fight against the signs of aging. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that prevents free radical damage and helps your pup fight against the sign of aging.

Also, it gives protection against UV rays which is very helpful for your pet if he spends too much time outdoors. Vitamin E capsules can be opened and cause warts and calluses.

Epsom Salt for Wounds

Sore muscles are very common in pets and you often see them limping around due to this issue. However, Epsom salt is a great natural remedy for sore muscles. It can also be used as an anti-inflammatory agent and for the cleaning of wounds. Epsom salt can also be used in opening and draining abscesses. To make a soak for your furry friend, take Epsom salt and mix it with water and apply it to the affected area for 10 minutes two times a day.

Yoghurt for Digestive Upsets

Plain yoghurt is an ideal treat for both humans and their furry friends. The probiotics present in the yoghurt can help your pets to keep the intestinal bacteria in balance.

The amount of yoghurt to feed depends on the size of your pets for small dogs and cats, a tablespoon of yoghurt is enough. Try to keep your pets away from flavoured yogurt as it contains additives and chemicals.

Conclusion

As a pet parent, you must keep things in your home that can be used as first aid for your pets. The items mentioned above are commonly present in every household and can be used when required. But first, you need to consult yours about the dosage and suitability of these products.
