Some examples of rice dog food include Purina Pro Plan Savor Adult Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice formula and the Instinct Be Natural Real Chicken & Brown Rice recipe.

Rice can be given to dogs when they are ill. The type of rice that can be given to dogs whom are ill is white rice. Another type of rice that is good for dogs is wild rice. Wild rice is good for dogs for many reasons. One reason why wild rice is good for it’s a good source of fiber. This is because fiber can help your dog feel fuller.

Since wild rice can make dogs feel fuller, the dog won’t be able to overheat or gain weight. It helps the dog maintain a healthy weight. Fiber also has digestive properties for the dog. Wild rice also has a lot of protein. Protein for the dog is very important to its well being and health.

There’s 6 grams of protein inside wild rice. Wild rice also has calcium and phosphorous. Both of these are important to the growth of dog’s bones. This is essential for puppies that are growing up. It’s also important to older dogs too. Calcium and phosphorous can help dogs develop stronger bones.

It also helps older dogs with preventing them from losing bone density.

In addition to helping with bone growth and providing protein, wild rice has antioxidants. These antioxidants will help with countering how chemicals and preservatives affect the dog’s overall health. It does this by eliminating the toxins out from the dog’s body. Many dog foods are very high in calories.

Diets high in calories can increase the risk of diabetes and weight gain. This can be countered with making sure that the dog has a healthy calorie intake with wild rice along with exercise. Both of these will help keep the dog healthy for many years.

What Are The Health Benefits Of Rice

There are many health benefits for dogs eating rice. Rice is a great source of vitamin D. Vitamin D can help with supporting the dog’s immune, brain, and nervous systems. The iron in rice can help with hemoglobin. Hemoglobin in dogs is the molecule from red blood cells that is able to carry oxygen.

There are some dogs that have immune disorders to gluten. Rice can help with counteracting the effects of gluten. This is due to the fact that rice delivers carbohydrates. Rice can also help dogs with regulating their bowel function.

Rice is also low in fat and sodium. A diet in too much fat and sodium isn’t good for a dog’s health. Rice can also help the dog get better from stomach distress. If the dog is vomiting and suffering from diarrhea, rice can heal their distressed stomach. It can also bind the stool in cases of diarrhea.
